MTA Educational Foundation Walking Tour “Fun”draiser April 20, 2012
The MTAEF will conduct a walking tour of lower Manhattan after the MTA’s Symposium on April 20th to many sites of general interest, as well as unique enclaves rich in the history of technical analysis. The tour will begin at the 9-11 Memorial at 3:30 PM.
Tour will include:
• The Federal Reserve, AIG offices and other buildings integral to the financial crisis of 2008.
• The offices of JP Morgan, John D. Rockefeller and the first location of Dow Jones & Co.
• The location of Morgan, Roberts and Rogers (point and figure history).
• The bar where the MTA was first organized.
• The site of the world’s first car bomb (it happened on Wall Street).
• Locations where The Dark Knight Rises (Batman 3) was filmed. The final scene was an attack on the New York Stock Exchange.
The tour will end at 6:00 PM at Fraunces Tavern, where you can enjoy a relaxing drink.
The tour is open to 30 people only and costs $50 per person - paid in advance.

David Keller succeeds Charlie Kirkpatrick at Brandeis
Beginning with the Jan. 2012 semester, David Keller, CMT, will be taking over for retiring Charlie Kirkpatrick, CMT, as Adjunct Professor at the Brandeis University International Business School. Dave is a Foundation Board Member and President of the MTA.

Phil Roth presented the 2011 Mike Epstein Award to Bruce Kamich, CMT, an adjunct professor at Baruch College at the Foundation's Annual Fundraiser on November 8, 2011.

Julie Dahlquist Wins 2011 Dow Award
Julie Dahlquist, PhD, CMT and her husband, Richard Bauer, PhD, CFA, CMT, have won the 2011 Charles H. Dow Award for Excellence and Creativity in Technical Analysis given by the MTA. Their paper, "Analyzing Gaps for Profitable Trading Strategies," presents a detailed template for analyzing gaps filtered for various market conditions to identify actionable trading opportunities while focusing on relative market performance. Hank Pruden, Ph.D. of Golden Gate University, San Francisco Professor presented two papers on stock market behavior at the Australian Technical Analysts Association Conference ( ATAA) on October 28 & 29 in Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Pruden was invited by the ATAA because of the graduate courses in Finance on technical analysis that he teaches at GGU coupled with his book, The Three Skills of Top Trading.
